Mark has worked in theatres from Moscow to Minneapolis as a director, actor and scenic artist. He is currently a freelance translator living in France and the author of six plays that have had public readings or full productions in the Paris area. The Nose was produced by Le Théâtre Tourtour in 1995 and marked the beginning of his playwriting career.

Synopsis
Lhakpa, a Tibetan merchant is busy arranging the imminent escape of ten religious fugitives that are hiding in his house when Yang, a captain in the Chinese Army, pays him an unexpected visit. Lhakpa and Yang have conducted their black market affairs on the 1st of every month for the past ten years. This time, Yang is early - three weeks early. Yang's unannounced arrival, his avid curiosity, and the presence of Lhakpa's "hidden" guests, creates an atmosphere charged with tension and emotion, testing the limits of their friendship.
