Judlyne A. Lilly is an award-winning playwright. In 1989, the same year she received her MFA from Catholic University, she won Source's National Playwrighting Competition for her play "New Times". She was received special recognition from the Lorraine Hansberry Award at the American College Theatre Festival in 1990 for "LOYAL OAKS". While attending Catholic, Ms. Lilly won second place in the David Lloyd Kreeger Creativity Competition. One of her plays, "The Pearl", about an attempted slave escape in Washington in 1848, played to sold out audiences at Source Theatre in 1992. Ms. Lilly has also written projects for the Smithsonian Institution, including "REMEMBERING SLAVERY", a radio documentary featuring the voices of former slaves. This documentary won a Gabriel Award. Her latest one act play "MINDFIELD" was given a reading at Center Stage in Baltimore.

Synopsis
Afema, a childless woman of 50, finds herself in a family way (again!!). While she's making the big decision, she takes a trip to a place she hasn't visited in a long time. Her conscience. View extract.
