Synopsis
The play proper, which begins in 1927 and goes on to the Normandy landings, is set between the pro- and epi-logues which are continuous and represent the young boy, Nicholas's confusion as to a purpose in life. It is set at the time of the Aldermaston 'Ban the Bomb' marches in about 1959.
