Synopsis
On Halloween, radio stations are saying that the dead have risen to life and are attacking the living, before they go off the air. A middle aged married couple, William and Katherine Winthrop, stranded in a weekend cabin far in the woods tries to make sense of it all. Their only son was with friends in the town center trick or treating when they heard the desperate radio reports and Katherine goes into near hysterics in trying to do something about it. William insists that it must be a Halloween hoax as the idea of the dead coming back to life is utterly preposterous in his eyes.
Their predicament changes when three more people come into their cabin seeking protection. They are Kyle, Olin and her nearly unconscious daughter Jane who barely survived an escape from the town center. Kyle and Olin relate their stories and how they came together when hordes of undead attacked people in the streets, biting and tearing them apart. Jane was bit by one of the undead when their car was overturned on a roadway and she seems to be dying right there. They make plans, and pace about waiting for daybreak. View extract.
